About Us

Uptown Appliance Repair provides in-home repair for premium household appliances across Houston. The company was established in 2011 and has operated from the same office on the Katy Freeway since. Every technician is employed directly by us rather than engaged through a network, and each is assigned to work that matches their training rather than to whichever call happens to be nearest.

Our technicians

We do not subcontract. The person who attends your home is on our payroll, has been trained on the equipment installed in Houston kitchens, and has been background checked before joining us. That structure is also what allows us to warrant our own labor, which a company cannot reasonably do when the work has been carried out by somebody else.

The procedure is consistent on every visit. The technician measures, reads the diagnostic history stored by the appliance, and presents a single price covering parts and labor together. No panel is removed until that price has been approved.

How we work

A written warranty. Our labor is warranted for 30 days and the term is printed on your invoice rather than described verbally at the door.

A response within the hour. Enquiries received during business hours are answered within sixty minutes, by which point we have generally identified which technician is best suited to the appliance described.

Wine storage and ice equipment. Cellar systems and ice machines are specialist disciplines that many Houston appliance companies decline. They form a substantial part of our work.

Care in an occupied home. Shoe covers and floor protection are standard, and the installation is left as it was found. A failed appliance is disruptive enough without the repair adding to it.

Credentials and insurance

Texas does not license appliance repair, so the standard is one we set ourselves. Every technician is insured, background checked and directly employed. Any work opening a sealed refrigeration system is carried out by a technician holding EPA Section 608 certification, and the certification number is recorded on your paperwork.
